Nice blog, Z-Wave uses a very low frequency wireless technology, which allows it be placed almost anywhere in your house and connect back to the central point straight through the existing walls.

I like Z wave but I like Insteon better. Insteon has a LOT more devices available to it. As far as hardware, if you want it, they make it. Also Insteon uses BOTH the power lines and RF technology, making it extremely reliable. Without running new wires I know nothing that is more reliable.
